International Awareness & Involvement

The International Awareness and Involvement Committee implements projects that provide opportunities for GEAAC members and the community to broaden their knowledge and understanding of other nations, increase their interest in international affairs, and aid in developing a greater appreciation for people of different backgrounds and cultures.
The committee has been involved in the following programs:
- GEAAC supports a young girl from Sierra Leone in the Adopt-A- Child/Sponsor-A- Child Program.
- The chapter has provided education about clean water and financial support to the Water Tanks and Wells initiative.
- The chapter has implemented workshops during International Day of Service, Just Us Girls Health and Wellness Conference and Community Empowerment Day that focus on international issues.
- GEAAC recognizes World Aids Day.
A resolution on the Passage of the US Senate Bill S.819 – Congo Conflict Minerals Act, 2009 was included in the International Affairs section for Resolutions included on the 50th National Convention agenda.
