President's Message

Greetings and Welcome to the official website of the Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. serving the western suburbs of Chicago.

We are pleased that you took the time to visit our website to learn more about the many ways our chapter is making a positive impact on the communities we serve. 

Our primary service area extends from Oak Park and west to DeKalb and includes Aurora, Bellwood, Bolingbrook, Broadview, Glen Ellyn, Hillside, Maywood, Naperville, Westchester and many other suburban communities in between.  Since our chartering on January 23, 1977, Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Chapter (GEAAC) has been firmly grounded in providing programs and services that fall within our sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.

Below is an example of some of the programs supported by GEAAC:

• Economic Development :  Financial Fortitude, Money Smart and Habitat for Humanity
• Educational Development : Just Us Girls annual Conference, Delta Academy, Delta G.E.M.S. and E.M.B.O.D.I.
• International Awareness & Involvement : Water Wells Project, Haitian Relief Project and Sponsoring a Child in a Third World Country and Advocacy on the Congo Crisis
• Physical and Mental Health : Healthy Lifestyles, Diabetes Awareness, The Power to End Stroke Program, Go Red For Women and Breast Cancer Awareness
• Political Awareness & Involvement: Voter Registration, Public Policy Legislation & Awareness, Anti-Bullying Campaign and Adopt A School

“A Sisterhood Called to Serve: Transforming Lives, Impacting Communities.”  With our National theme at the forefront of our efforts, our goals are to expand our program offerings to our communities; enhance our partnerships and grow our sponsorship with local businesses; collaborate with local community groups and service-oriented organizations and; expand our media relationship to raise awareness and increase participation in our public service events.
